• Circular No. 04/2015/TT-BCA specimen papers concerning foreigners entering, leaving and residing In Vietnam

1. Who is granted a temporary residence card under the family visit scheme in Vietnam?

• Foreigners who are spouses, children under 18 years of age of foreigners are granted visas with symbols LV1, LV2, LS, DT1, DT2, DT3, NN1, NN2, DH, PV1, LD1, LD2
• Foreigners are fathers, mothers, wives, husbands and children of Vietnamese people.

Children over 18 years old of foreigners working in Vietnam will not be granted temporary residence cards TT. Instead, get a VR visa valid for up to 6 months.

2. Dossier for making a family temporary residence card.

2.1. In case of being guaranteed by Vietnamese people

This is the case of foreigners who are fathers, mothers, wives, husbands and children of Vietnamese people. Then prepare the following documents:

• Papers proving personal relationship with the guarantor who is a Vietnamese citizen (Example: Marriage registration certificate, Birth certificate, Family relationship certificate);
•  Declaration of guarantee for temporary residence card: Form NA7 (certified by the commune police where the guarantor permanently resides);
• The application form for temporary residence card for foreigners: Form NA8;
• Original passport;
• 02 photos 2cmx3cm;
• A notarized copy of the Vietnamese household registration book of the guarantor;
• A notarized copy of the guarantor’s ID/CCCD/Passport.

2.2. In case the person visiting relatives is the wife, husband or child of a foreigner working in Vietnam

• A notarized copy of the Enterprise Registration Certificate of the enterprise where the guarantor is working;
• A notarized copy of the guarantor’s passport or temporary residence card (In case a temporary residence card has been issued);
• Original passport of the applicant for family temporary residence card;
• Guarantee declaration for temporary residence card: Form NA6 (certified by the guarantee company);
• Application form for temporary residence card: Form NA8;
• 02 photo cards 2cm×3cm;
• Certificate of family relationship or certificate of marriage registration or birth certificate (for children guaranteed by parents);
• Certificate of temporary residence registration via online declaration or in person at the police station of the ward where the temporary residence is located.

***Note: Documents in foreign languages ​​must be consular legalized and notarized translation. Papers issued by a competent State agency of Vietnam are required to be certified true copies of the originals.

3. Where to apply for a family temporary residence card.

The Immigration Department or the Immigration Department of the police station of the province or city where the enterprise is headquartered.

4. Processing time: 05 working days from the date of submission of documents at the Immigration Department.
