II. What is the Criminal Record Certificate number that an individual must apply for if they want to work abroad?

Vietnamese citizens have the right to request their Criminal Record Certificate. According to regulations, individuals wishing to work abroad can apply for Criminal Record Certificate No. 1.

III. Content of Criminal Record Certificate No. 1

Full name, gender, date of birth, place of birth, nationality, place of residence, ID card or passport number of the individual requesting the Criminal Record Certificate.

Criminal record status.

Information on any prohibition from holding positions, establishing, or managing businesses or cooperatives.

IV. Where should an individual apply for the Criminal Record Certificate if they want to work abroad?

For Vietnamese citizens who cannot determine their permanent or temporary residence: apply at the National Criminal Record Center.

For Vietnamese citizens with permanent or temporary residence in Vietnam: apply at the Department of Justice.

V. Procedures for requesting Criminal Record Certificate No. 1

The person requesting the Criminal Record Certificate must submit the application form for the certificate along with the following documents:

• A copy of the ID card or passport of the person requesting the certificate.
• A copy of the household registration book or certificate of permanent or temporary residence of the person requesting the certificate.

Vietnamese citizens must submit the application form and required documents at the Department of Justice where they are permanently residing; if there is no permanent residence, they should submit it at the Department of Justice where they are temporarily residing.
