Foreigners who entered the country on a visa-free basis, entered with an electronic visa or a tourist visa from March 1, 2020 until now, will continue to be “automatically extended temporary residence” until the end of July 31/2021, can exit the country during the above period without having to go through the procedures for extending your temporary stay. In case of entry before March 1, 2020, if it is proved to be stranded due to the Covid-19 epidemic, it will be certified by the diplomatic mission by a diplomatic note (with Vietnamese translation) or certified by the Vietnamese competent authorities about being isolated, treated for Covid-19 or other force majeure reasons… are also considered to apply “automatic extension of temporary residence” until the end of July 31, 2021 and must present Note or written confirmation mentioned above upon exit.

Foreign citizens during the period of “automatic extension of temporary residence” must declare their temporary residence and make medical declarations according to regulations.

Foreign citizens who do not fall under the provisions of Section 1 of this Notice or commit other violations of law, shall comply with the current provisions of Vietnamese law./.
